About us

The Practice originated back in the 1960's with Gary Chapman, the principal of Gary Chapman + Associates, commencing in Public practice. He was educated in Auckland before moving to Tokoroa in the 1960's to join, as a partner, in a three partner firm. He later moved to Taupo in 1978 and commenced as a Sole Practitioner. Our Tokoroa office was opened a few years later in 1984. The company of Gary Chapman + Associates Limited, was formed on 1st July 2004.

Over this time Gary has been committed to developing and training well rounded and knowledgeable accountants. With over approximately 40 trainees and 20 going on to become chartered accountants and members of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.

The firm has always had the philosophy that all clients are unique and we will customize our services to suit their requirements and needs. Our commitment to excellence is paramount and we have a wide range of experience and specialist technical skills.

The practice works extensively with small to medium sized enterprises in all aspects of accounting and taxation and has specialist knowledge in farming, forestry, services industries, medical professionals and retailing.
